ABOUT ME

Director. Script Supervisor. Storyteller.

I am a Chicago based filmmaker with a B.F.A. in Cinema and Television Directing from Columbia College Chicago. I have over half a decade of experience in all areas of filmmaking, but my true passions lie within Directing and Script Supervising.

As a Director, I strive to create a positive and safe space for artists to feel comfortable sharing their art. I know the best way to grow as a filmmaker is to learn through experience, and I am constantly working in all departments with the goal to better strengthen my directing abilities in all levels of production.

On set, I am constantly asking for ideas from department heads because I believe the best art is made collaboratively. If all voices feel heard, the end product will always be stronger creative piece. The constraints of filmmaking can often feel impossible to overcome, but I understand that it is these constraints that push creativity, and in turn I am constantly pushing my team to think outside of the box.

I truly believe the Script Supervisor is the unsung hero of a film set, and as one, I focus on making sure my work is both precise and easy to understand. With my strong background in editing, I understand what information is key when beginning the post process, and my paperwork is curated specifically to better speed up the process for the E
ditor. Paperwork is rarely anyone's favorite part of filmmaking, but I believe that with an accurate Script Supervisor, the production value of a film grows tenfold, (and with any luck, the headaches of continuity become nonexistent).

An Artistic Blurb...

It is within the small moments we feel the largest impacts. A singular encounter can fully alter the path of an individual. As a filmmaker I am fascinated by the microscopic interactions people experience and the role they play in the greater story of life. When I tell stories, I attempt to explore how such singular events impact an individual on a grander scale. Although each person experiences life differently, I feel there are similarities that are often overlooked. We may grow into adulthood separately, but there are instances we are all familiar with, and it is within these moments we find common ground.

Film creates a space in which empathy is at the forefront, and I believe it is within these commonalities that audiences feel the most connection. Using comedy to explore these moments allows for a disarmament of preconceived thought and an openness to listen from an audience. Sharing a laugh with a stranger is the ultimate icebreaker, and as a filmmaker I want to foster moments in which audiences consider their similarities over their differences.

I believe the collaboration found in filmmaking is one of a kind- no other platform allows for a stronger bond between artists, and I strive to create films in which all artists voices feel heard and empowered both on and off screen. Establishing an environment where collaboration is at the forefront allows filmmakers to fully share thoughts and ideas without scrutiny, creating far more meaningful and personal stories to share with the world. The art of filmmaking relies heavily on human interaction both on screen and behind the scenes, and my ultimate goal is to create stories that strengthen the bonds between artists and audience members alike.
